Day of Service with Bossier
What is day of Service?
Each year, United Way of Northwest Louisiana partners with Bossier Parish Schools and Caddo Parish Public Schools to host the largest district-wide volunteer day for students, parents, educators, and more. Volunteer school teams from the district partner with nonprofits across Bossier and Caddo parishes to complete in-person projects or collection drives. United Way’s Days of Service initiative seeks to lessen the financial strain of labor costs and upkeep from our region’s most beloved nonprofits. Whether you are a Day of Service veteran or this is your first year to participate, we thank you for your dedication to serving our community.

Project Details
Most Day of Service projects will be hands-on, in-person service projects that give Bossier Parish Schools students the opportunity to serve local nonprofits and experience the impact of giving back firsthand.
A limited number of collection drive projects will also be available. Collection drive teams will begin collecting needed items in the week leading up to Day of Service, with items benefiting participating nonprofit organizations.
To help create meaningful, hands-on service experiences for students, the majority of Day of Service opportunities will focus on in-person projects.
In-person projects and collection drives will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on September 19, 2026.
Together, we can put United is the Way into action and help local nonprofits strengthen the work they do in our community.

- After Party
After a morning of making a difference across our community, it’s time to celebrate! All Day of Service participants are invited to join us for an Afterparty at the Airline Baptist Shelton Sports Complex following the completion of their service projects.
The Afterparty will be a chance to relax, have fun, and celebrate the incredible work our Bossier Parish Schools teams have accomplished throughout the day. Participants can enjoy games, activities, food, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate their impact and connect with fellow volunteers. Come serve, celebrate, and show what happens when United is the Way!
